Quilt Back Pattern

Below is the block layouts I used for the backing of my Hexagon quilt. Don't be afraid to play with the sizes.....
The strips could be thinner or wider. The inner block could be square not rectangle.... have a play.

Above: Completed blocks. Add more or less blocks to get the size quilt top you want. I put random yellow centers in some of the blocks.

Block One
Above left : Cut 4 pieces. Centre: sew side strips. Right: sew top strips.



Block Two
Above left : Cut 3 pieces. Centre: sew left side to center strip. Right: sew right side to center strip

Place blocks in alternate vertical rows and sew together.

Sew strips between each vertical row of joined blocks

The instructions in JMD Designs retail pattern packs are a lot more
detailed than what is given here in this tutorial above.
