The printed books arrived safely and promptly. I will be back for more. Flo,
Canada.

I have made two of your quilting patterns and had to write to say how easy they are to follow. Thank you. Sharon, USA

Just a quick note to let you know the charts have arrived in good order and I am very happy with them.  Terry, Tasmania

Christmas Banner
 with
Applique Cottage, Tree and Peace Wording
Written and
Designed by Janet M. Davies
This banner has non-sew applique for the objects in the designs and the wiggly boarders. I have given the pattern pieces bellow but they are not to size as I am sure everyone wants to make 'their version' of it or something similar. I used fusible iron-on webbing to attach the fabric objects to the background fabrics. I did not sew down the actual edges of the fused fabrics. The wavy strips/boarders have ric-rack look.

The whole banner is 159 cm (63 inches) long.
Each piece of the banner is 17.5 cm 19cm (7 x 7 1/2 inches) in size.

Applique Cottage: Save the line drawing to your computer and then put into a Word document and resize to the size you want.  My cottage is 7.5 cm  (3 inches) high. The dashed lines show the walls sitting under the roof fabric. Beads were sewn at random on the cottage roof and 1 for each window and for a door handle to add some sparkle

Applique Tree: Save the line drawing to your computer and then put into a Word document and resize to size you want. My tree is 7.5 cm  (3 inches) high. Sequins and beads where sewn on the tree to add some sparkle; after the tree was appliqued into the plain green fabric.

Around the edge of the plain panel I stitched a row of Herringbone stitch using 2 strands of metallic thread.

Straight Wavy borders: Appliqued down sides of the cottage and tree: I cut strips of fabric using the wavy lines above and appliqued them around the edge of the plain panel. Save the line drawing to your computer and then put into a Word document and resize to size you want. My wavy boarder above is 2.5 cm (1 inches) at the widest points.

Rectangle wavy border and lettering: The lettering is cut from velvet fabric and appliqued onto plain cotton fabric and then the rectangle wavy boarder is appliqued on top covering the edge of the green fabric. My rectangle wavy boarder is 2.5 cm  (1 inches). The Peace letters are 6 cm  (2 1/2  inches) high.

The instructions in JMD Designs retail pattern packs are a lot more
detailed than what is given here in this tutorial above.
